At the end of every Allan Block retaining wall project, we take photos of our work, and submit it to Allan Block for quality control, coaching, and record keeping.
In this article we are going to talk about that process, and why it is so valuable to you the client.
Allan Block really cares about their end users of their product (you), so they support their product installers exceptionally well.
Allan Block (AB) was the first, and only company that has a training program for contractors. It’s incredibly detailed, and an invaluable first step in learning how to build the very best retaining walls.
There are other block manufactures that are similar to AB, that do not have a training program. AB recognized this, and made contractor training for them to raise the industry up. Again, they really care about educating installers, and retaining wall inspectors on building great looking, and long-lasting retaining walls.
Once a contractor has completed the AB contractor installation course and has become certified, AB encourages contractors to submit photos and project details to them for quality control, coaching, and record keeping.
There are many ways to build and finish a RW. When you have an expert guiding young contractors they can make suggestions, and really influence the quality and aesthetics of their work.
We have been submitting projects ever since we became trained and certified. After doing this for so long the coaching turns into more of here are a few options that are different, but not necessarily better.
Now that you understand the process and a little about why we submit photos, lets talk about the benefits to you the client.
First, and most importantly you can be confident that the team at Back 40 Landscaping knows what they are doing. Secondly, you know that we aren’t hiding our work, but rather asking for feedback and suggestions directly from the source, Allan Block.
After doing this for a while we have learned every scenario that can come up, as well as every option to address it. Surprisingly there can be many design solutions to a single problem, and each option has pros and cons. Understanding this at a high level will ensure you get the very best outcome in terms of strength and design aesthetics for your Allan Block retaining wall project.
