Elegant Patio with Bridgewood

This Abbotsford, British Columbia, project focused on creating a functional and stylish outdoor space for a customer who wanted to replace an old garden wall and add a patio area for entertaining family. The timeline required completion before the end of summer to maximize seasonal enjoyment.

The customer disliked the appearance of Allan Block and desired the look of wood but understood the limitations of even treated wood retaining walls. Natasha proposed a creative solution: Barkman Bridgewood concrete blocks, a special-order product that mimics the appearance of wood while providing superior durability. The installation process required heavy lifting, including craning the 170-pound blocks into the backyard and using a specialized excavator clamp.

The result is a striking and long-lasting outdoor space that blends beauty and functionality.
